FEDERAL 1099 & W-2 FILING DEADLINES for 2022

January 31, 2023

Recipient copies mailed for 2022 tax year for all 1099s and W2s. 

IRS/SSA Copy A e-filed or mailed for W2 forms and 1099-NEC Forms for non-employee compensation.

February 28, 2023

IRS/SSA Copy A paper forms are due for all other 1099 forms.

March 31, 2023

E-file Copy A forms with the IRS/SSA for all other 1099 forms. 

STATE 1099 & W-2 FILING DEADLINES

Most states have the same deadlines as federal filing.

Many, however, require additional Reconciliation Forms, which vary by state. Refer to your state’s requirements for details.

W-2 and 1099 E-filing is accepted by most states.
